Since Monday I have been flattened by the flu, so apologies for the inactivity of the blog. You would think that gormless git Gordon Brown bragging yesterday at Prime Ministers question time that he has "saved the world", then saving me from getting the flu would have been a walk in the park for that confidence trickster.

Dozens of words related to the countryside have also been culled. The publisher claims the changes have been made to reflect the fact that Britain is a modern, multicultural, multifaith society. But academics and head teachers said that the changes to the 10,000 word Junior Dictionary could mean that children lose touch with Britain's heritage.'

ReplyDeletePolitical Correctness started in a think tank in Germany in 1923. It was going to be called The Institute of Marxism but in order to hide its Marxist roots it became known as The Institute of Social Research. The purpose was to find a solution to the biggest problem facing the implementers of communism in Russia. Why wasn't communism spreading? Because Western Civilization was in its way with its belief in the individual and that an individual could develop valid ideas.
At the root of communism was the theory that all valid ideas come from the effect of the social group of the masses. The individual is nothing. And they believed that the only way for communism to advance was to help Western Civilization to destroy itself by undermining its foundations by chipping away at the rights of those annoying individuals. One way to do that? Change their speech and thought patterns by spreading the idea that vocalising your beliefs is disrespectful to others and must be avoided to make up for past inequities and injustices. Then use this to stifle any discussion which might show up the lack of common sense in their ideology. And call it something that sounds positive: "Political Correctness."
That is how Political Correctness came about and why it is the tool of the far left in politics. When Hitler took over Germany in 1933, the Institute moved to the USA (as most of the thinkers were Jewish.
The Frankfurt school recommended (amongst other things):
1.the creation of racism offences
2.continual change to create confusion
3.the teaching of sex and homosexuality to children
the undermining of schools and teachers' authority
4.huge immigration to destroy national identity
5.the promotion of excessive drinking
6.emptying the churches
7.an unreliable legal system with bias against the victim of crime
8.dependency on the state or state benefits
9.control and dumbing down of media
10.encouraging the breakdown of the family

ReplyDeleteThere is a scandal so huge that it ought to bring down the Government. Experts have discovered a way of teaching children to read which is far better than the one used in most State schools. But the Government supports a method which is dramatically worse, so condemning millions of children to dyslexia and illiteracy. It is actually even more unforgivable than that, but let us begin with the research. It revealed that what is nowadays known as ‘synthetic phonics' is hugely more successful than the so-called ‘mixture of methods' used in the Government's laughable ‘National Literacy Strategy'. In tests, primary school children using synthetic phonics were ahead of those using Government-approved schemes in every way. At 11, they were reading at levels expected of 15-year-olds. Their spelling was almost two years ahead. Significantly, boys – who lag behind girls when taught by Government methods – overtook girls. Doesn't the Government know this? Well, it does, and it doesn't care. The research, trumpeted last weekend was, in fact, a follow-up of work done five years ago which showed exactly the same thing. As far back as 1955, the English-speaking educational world was convulsed by Rudolf Flesch's book Why Johnny Can't Read, which showed synthetic phonics was best. In fact, though it wasn't called synthetic phonics, this method was used successfully all over the world in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Socialist-inspired new methods didn't really invade British primaries until the disastrous 1967 Plowden report endorsed ‘progressive' teaching. So why is this Government, which pretends to be so worried about education, flatly ignoring more than a century of experience combined with modern research? Because it supports the ‘progressive' education establishment which sees radical social engineering as more important than schooling. Real education is impossible without the things these ‘progressive' tyrants wish to destroy – discipline, authority, order, tradition, learning by heart, rigorous examinations, selection. Phonics is taught through discipline and repetition. For them, schools are machines for indoctrinating the young in radical ideas – hence their abolition of traditional history, the loaded new classes in ‘citizenship' and ‘Personal Social and Health Education', and the obsession with antimarriage sex education.
Again political correctness in the guise of 'The Human Rights Act' makes a mockery of common sense.

AN EMPLOYMENT judge has dismissed racism claims by a black former HR manager levelled last month at the University of Liverpool.
James Jagne told the employment tribunal he was rejected from an interview shortlist for an HR post due to his postcode and his Gambian name.
But judge Derek Reed ruled: “He was not unlawfully discriminated against on grounds of race.”
Mr Jagne claimed because he was from Toxteth, L8, with a distinctive Gambian name, many people would unfairly assume a number of things.
In his hearing, he said that the university had adopted a second set of criteria to slash their initial interview shortlist from 27 to 13.
The university argued that the panel had not known his race and he had simply not shown he had “current experience and skills”.

Teens Getting High On HIV Drugs In South Africa
ReplyDeleteSchoolchildren in South Africa are reportedly using anti-retroviral drugs intended for combating HIV/AIDS as a recreational drug for hallucinogenic and relaxing effects.
HIV patients and even some health care workers are selling the drugs for extra money. Aids patients are also smoking the drugs, meant to boost the immune system and suppress HIV levels, instead of taking them as prescribed.
The teens take the anti-retroviral drugs, grind them into a powder, then mix it with either marijuana or painkillers, and smoke it. “When you look at them, just a few seconds after taking it, they are in another world,” says shocked BBC documentary-maker Tooli Nhlapo.
“When I asked them why they like doing it, they said it helps them relax and forget about their problems,” said Nhlapo, who says the problem is a national one. “I went back to the township and then I discovered that it was something that was known in the entire township,” she said.
Dr Kas Kasongo, who advises on a South African anti-retroviral drugs panel, says doctors need to be more accountable on how the drugs they administer are taken. “We need pharmacists and good administrators but again it is a social problem,” he said, adding that healthy people taking the drugs put themselves at risk for their powerful side effects, such as nausea and vomitting.
